Sine Bahaghari at The Collective Art Fair.

On Saturday, Sine Bahaghari will be among the participants to the first The Collective Art Fair. Several artists and entrepreneurs will gather at The Collective for a day filled with art, music, books, clothes, movies, and food.

At Kanto, Sine Bahaghari will be screening two short films by Sigrid Bernardo: “Little”, an internationally-acclaimed film which was only shown once in the Philippines, and “Babae”, a favorite among LGBT film screenings. They will be followed by the noir-ish “Señorita” by Vincent Sandoval.

For the fair, Sine Bahaghari will be selling the soundtrack of “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”, DVDs of “Ang Panggagahasa kay Fe” signed by Irma Adlawan, and Sine Bahaghari shirts and bags. The fair will also have tarot readers available, courtesy of the Tarot Monkey, SP Lovecraft Productions, and Yam Lacaba.

A thank-you letter for our friends who joined the Sine Bahaghari opening night.

Sine Bahaghari opening night at Chef's Bistro

Akei, PinoyG4M, and Pelikula Tumblr celebrated the opening of Sine Bahaghari last Saturday at Chef’s Bistro in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. The first installment of this four-weekend film festival featured two LGBT-themed films: Raya Martin’s “Next Attraction”, and the much-anticipated “Ang Sayaw Ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” by Alvin Yapan.

The organizers thank the people who attended the first screening including representatives from Outrage Magazine, Accenture Flag, Out Philippines, and the LGBT group of JP Morgan Chase. Our heartfelt thanks go as well to Raya Martin, director of the critically-acclaimed “Next Attraction”, for coming to the event.

We are beaming with pride and appreciation on the big turnout of the February 11th screening despite the slight technical difficulties that occurred at the second half of the event. In behalf of the organizers of Sine Bahaghari, we wish to extend our sincerest apologies for what happened.

In light of this, we are pleased to inform you that we will hold a special repeat screening of Alvin Yapan’s “Ang Sayaw Ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” on February 19, 5PM, at Chef’s Bistro in Scout Gandia cor. Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Sine Bahaghari thanks directors Raya Martin and Alvin Yapan, and producer Alemberg Ang for allowing us to screen their films for free. We are also very grateful to Chef’s Bistro for accommodating the first Sine Bahaghari screening and for graciously offering to host the repeat screening of “Sayaw”.

Sine Bahaghari also invites everyone to come see our other screenings on February 18 at the UP Film Institute Videotheque, February 24 at Cinema is Incomplete, and February 25 at Kanto. For the line up of films to be screened on those dates, please see the Sine Bahaghari website.

Sine Bahaghari is Akei, PinoyG4M, and Pelikula Tumblr’s contribution to National Arts Month and is included in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ Philippine Arts Festival 2012. For the list of other events celebrated during the Philippine Arts Festival and updated schedule of activities you may log on to www.ncca.gov.ph.
